Simulation education is not just about learning; it’s about evolving and transforming healthcare. As simulation enthusiasts, educators, and healthcare professionals, we are constantly seeking ways to enhance our skills, improve patient outcomes, and revolutionize healthcare training.
SIM Summit Atlanta, hosted by Avkin and Emory Nursing Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, brought together simulationists and healthcare professionals to explore the latest trends, techniques, and technologies in simulation-based education. On March 22, 2023, attendees had the opportunity to engage in dynamic discussions, interact with networking sessions, and witness live demonstrations of Avkin products.
Participants got to hear from industry experts, Amy Cowperthwait and Megan Weldon, on topics such as psychological safety and debriefing techniques. In addition to the educational sessions, attendees were able to tour the SIM Center at Emory University and had the opportunity to share best practices and forge valuable connections. Typically, these connections frequently result in future collaborations and the sharing of best practices.
The day ended as participants got to witness a live debriefing session with Amy Cowperthwait. This immersive experience provided attendees with a valuable opportunity to ask questions throughout the debriefing session. Through guided discussions and constructive feedback, participants gained valuable insights into their communication and decision-making abilities, further enhancing their proficiency in simulation-based education.
With engaging educational sessions led by simulation leaders, SIM Summit Atlanta provided attendees with the tools, inspiration, and connections needed to drive innovation and excellence in simulation-based education. As participants departed, they carried with them not only new insights and skills but also a renewed sense of purpose and enthusiasm for advancing healthcare through simulation.
We express our gratitude to the Emory Nursing Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing for graciously hosting this event.
