Standardized patients wearing the Avkin product line can now get their haptic cues through vibrations on the Avband by pairing the two products through the Avkin App.
Customizable
Customizable colors and intensity of vibration allow you to determine the needed cues for each simulation.
With safety at the forefront of best practice, the incorporated panic button gives the Simulated Participant the ability to communicate with the control room if they feel unsafe.
Closed Loop Communication
Improve communication between the Standardized Patient and control room with a wearable. The colored LEDs and haptic vibrations offer discreet cues to the simulated participant.
Avband: Wearable Communication Device
Meant to replace the need for including bulky ineffective earpieces in simulation, Avband, is a smartwatch look-a-like for inconspicuous 3-way communication between the control room, patient, and Avkin simulators. An alert button on the side of the product allows the live patient to send a panic notification to the control room if they feel psychologically and/or physically unsafe at any time during the simulation.
It is refreshing to work with a company so committed to supporting the integration of products and the success of students, they don’t leave you after the sale!
We have better resources and technology than we did in the early 2000s and now we can use Avkin’s wearable simulators with live people which outweighs the current manikin technology
Avkin has put much thought and energy into diverse skin tones for their wearable simulators. The skin tones are a good representation of diverse patient populations.
The possibilities are endless with what you have. Your product line is fantastic. Far more value for your money to have these products than something that tells you end-tidal CO2
This product solves the problem that a lot of us have in simulation. When you practice on a piece of plastic, it’s just not the same experience for the student.
The creativity and realism of these products will immerse the healthcare learner more deeply in simulation education, ultimately improving patient safety.
These products are improving my students’ theory application and the improvement they’ve shown with their skills dexterity.
