The only online certificate for
standardized/ simulated
participants.
Quality training is the most important element of working with live people in simulations. An untrained simulated participant (SP) can challenge the efficacy of your learning opportunities. A well-trained simulated participant (SP) can bring your simulations to life in ways you never thought possible. With all of this in mind, training an entire group of SPs can be time-consuming and feel intimidating.
Avkin eliminates any confusion by providing top training from the experts in SP simulation.
Who should receive this training?
According to standards of best practice, any live person in simulation must be trained. If you have not received any formalized training on being a simulated participant, then this program was designed for you.
Certification Focus
Standardization
Maintaining the same level of difficulty throughout the simulation.
Professionalism
The importance of being on time and prepared for simulation.
Feedback
Direct, accurate, and quality feedback- after the simulation.

Overview

Megan Weldon, CHSE
Director of Education
This course will transform those who have never heard of simulation into confidently trained SP’s ready to participate in simulation at institutions across the world. The primary focuses will be on safety, feedback, standardization, character development and professionalism. This certification is firmly rooted in standards of best practice and expectations of any simulation center utilizing live people.
By the end of this course…
- Participants will be able to identify the difference and importance of two kinds of standardizations.
- Participants will be able to explain the 5 domains of best practice from ASPE.
- Participants will implement lessons and best practice for feedback after simulation during the debriefing session.
- Participants will demonstrate an advanced level of professionalism and recognize their part in simulation.
SP TRANING COURSE
Megan will guide you through the 5 lessons of what it takes to be a simulated participant. This course was designed to turn novices into confident professionals who are ready to participate in simulation. Each lesson will provide insightful PowerPoints, full simulation videos, and quizzes to ensure you are ready for simulation.
Don't take our word for it
I can't thank Amy and Megan enough for all of the help you have provided us. You have given us the confidence to train SPs (simulated participants) and the knowledge to develop a comprehensive cadre of SPs for the University of Michigan School of Nursing.
