This year’s annual meeting theme is “Unifying Our Voices: Nurse Leaders Building a Stronger Future.”  Content will highlight the role of nurse leaders in bringing together stakeholders from all areas of practice and all disciplines to strengthen healthcare delivery. There will be a focus on nurse exemplars, supporting newer generations of nurses, and the impact of nurse leader advocacy. Like past conferences, content will be presented by renowned speakers, leaders of constituent organizations, and accomplished members of our own organization – in podium and poster formats.  This one is not to be missed!

Avtrach, a high-fidelity, wearable tracheostomy simulator, is designed to replicate an anterior thorax so tracheostomy care and suctioning can be authentically replicated in simulation. Through a Bluetooth connection between Avtrach and the Avkin app, an assortment of lung sounds can be changed at any time by the educator from the control room. These lungs allow for the Avtrach to be connected to a ventilator and the patient to be in line with suctioning.

Avthor, a wearable chest tube care simulator, replicates the intrathoracic pressures needed to realistically teach the assessment and care of a patient with a chest tube.
